Open Mornings at Arden House

Welcome to Arden House

Arden House is a deliberately different independent senior school in the heart of West London, for students in Years 7 to 11.

We believe young people excel when they are known as individuals, challenged to think independently and encouraged to be engaged and contribute positively to the world around them.

Here at Arden House, we focus on academic ambition, social character and individual growth.

We support determination by fostering the internal discipline and desire to adapt and grow which is required to exceed targets, master complex skills, embrace challenges and fulfil their potential.

Aspiration is blended through every aspect of school life as we build a culture of high expectations. From a unique and ambitious Key Stage 3 curriculum to a bespoke range of GCSE choices, we encourage students to think independently and aim high.

Rooted in the rich and diverse community of West London, Arden House is a school where respect and empathy are lived values. Our students respect unique perspectives, backgrounds and identities and celebrate the richness of our community. We nurture empathetic, compassionate thinkers who support their peers and actively enrich their community.

The result is an education that develops confident, articulate and compassionate young people. Young people who listen with empathy, lead with humility, communicate with clarity and approach new opportunities with curiosity and confidence.

Joining Arden House begins with a conversation rather than an examination. Families meet our Headteacher, Shirley Drummond, tour the school and discuss their child’s interests, aspirations and potential. Admission is based on this meeting alongside two recent school reports.

By the end of Year 11, every student has benefited from a structured careers programme designed to help them make informed decisions about their future. Whether progressing to sixth form, vocational education or an apprenticeship, students leave Arden House well prepared for the next stage of their journey and ready to make a positive contribution to society.

We believe the best way to appreciate what makes Arden House distinctive is to experience it first-hand. We look forward to welcoming you to our school.

An All-Round Education

Academic

Our Key Stage 3 curriculum is unique and ambitious, and it leads into a broad range of GCSE choices. With a maximum of 15 in a class, teaching is shaped around each student. We set high expectations, then give students the attention and the discussion time they need to meet them.

Wellbeing

Choosing a senior school is a decision about a whole person, not a set of results. We stretch and challenge every student personally, never through pressure. Our students are known by name, supported by staff who notice when something is not right, and encouraged to speak up for themselves.

Co-curricular

Drama and performance, taught by a LAMDA graduate and theatre director, with developing partnerships with local theatres and studios. A STEM programme developed with a London university. Learning that regularly takes students out across West London.
